Alcohol, Temperance, and Prohibitione

Alcohol, Temperance, and Prohibition is a digital collection of the library of Brown University. Most if the digitized items at the Alcohol, Temperance, and Prohibition collection is from the collection on Alcoholism and Addiction Studies and from several other collections at the Brown University Library. This online digital library mainly consists of digitized versions of broadsides, sheet music, pamphlets and government publications.

The original items at the Brown University had been gathered over three hundred years for researchers and scholars at the University. These materials were also made accessible for scholars outside the Brown University, who were interested in the study of American History, and the history of alcoholism.


The materials stored at the library also included documents on how the media helps in spreading various ideas regarding alcoholism. The role of media in spreading information has also been discussed in these materials at the library of the Brown University.
